VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN LA GRANGE (updated April, 2021)

Name of Your Nonprofit: Helping Hand Center
Title of Volunteer Position: Adopt- A-Home
Describe Volunteer Tasks and Time Commitment:  Adopt a local HHC home and choose to support HHC residents with customized activities including spring yard work, summer gardening or  holiday decorating.
Time Commitment: 2 hours.

Name of Your Nonprofit:    The Legacy Guild   
Title of Volunteer Position:    We offer several ways to get involved.  You can serve on our Executive Board or on one of our committees (Scholarship, Financial or Marketing). We also have a Women’s Auxiliary Board and a Men’s Advisory Board. In addition, we host 2 major fundraisers a year and seek volunteers to be part of the planning committee and to volunteer the day of the event. Lastly, we always seek volunteers to serve as mentors to scholars to provide assistance with career planning.

Title of Volunteer Position: Practice Volunteer
Describe Volunteer Tasks and Time Commitment: Be present at practices to assist in taking notes and as needed.
Title of Volunteer Position: Performance Volunteer 
Describe Volunteer Tasks and Time Commitment: Greet and usher. Hand out playbills, facilitating masks, hand sanitizer, and spacing for our audience for our outdoor show this summer.
Title of Volunteer Position: Costume Volunteer 
Describe Volunteer Tasks and Time Commitment: Work from your own home mostly and help "tweak" costumes so that the actors and actresses can feel comfortable and look terrific on stage.

Title of Volunteer Position:    Driver

Describe Volunteer Tasks and Time Commitment: Provide safe, accompanied transportation to clients 60 and better to their medical appointments, or grocery shop for them. Background checks and training provided by ICP staff.

Title of Volunteer Position:    Petal Pushers/Special Treat Deliveries
Describe Volunteer Tasks and Time Commitment: Deliver Petal Pushers delivery of small vases of flowers once per month. Background checks and training provided by ICP staff.

Title of Volunteer Position:    Food Rescue & meal team support

Describe Volunteer Tasks and Time Commitment: Assist putting together meals for BEDS clients and delivering to motels, picking up food rescue items from Trader Joe’s and/or delivering food rescue to housed clients. 1 - 2 days a week 2 to 4 hours depending on availability or task.
