CASTING AUDITIONS for THE PHILADELPHIA STORY, LATTE Theater
Bring the beloved "silver screen" movies to life in the spotlights. This laugh-laden romantic smash has love... and hate... in the air. Socialite Tracy Lord and C.K. Dexter Haven's fiery marriage and equally passionate divorce obsessed the masses. Fast forward two years after this dazzling break-up, just as Tracy is about to remarry. The day before the wedding, three unexpected guests show up at the Lord Mansion: an undercover reporter, photographer, and the ex-husband, Dexter, who made a deal to stop blackmail from destroying the family - for a wedding exclusive. Sparks fly in every conceivable way as a love quadrangle breeds comedic chaos and… no one can predict the ending of… The Philadelphia Story. Tracy
Socialite, 24 years old. A fierce ice princess. Acerbic wit yet a fragile warmth within. Her picture-perfect persona is a defense from trust issues. (Katherine Hepburn)
Dexter
The roguish ex-husband and current neighbor of Tracy. Part angel, part devil, and fully the leading man. Protective, trying to redeem himself.(Carey Grant).
Dinah & DeAnna
The mischievous younger, sisters of Tracy Lord. They are double the fun and double the trouble. They love Dexter and desperately wish to end the engagement of Tracy & George. Innocent. The comic relief. Not bad, but drawn that way.
Margaret
Loving mother. Young at heart, 47, and quick of wit. The warm sunshine others come to bathe in… aside from when thinking on the affair of her husband, Seth, who she still loves.
Mike
A tough yet honest magazine reporter. Judgmental about the upper class yet becomes smitten with Tracy. Liz, his sassy photographer & partner with benefits is put to the test. At 30, snarky & charming.(Jimmy Stewart)
Liz
A wise photographer that has held a long-time flame for Mike, the writer. Her common sense and genuine realness offset Mike’s bluster.
George
