Joint Statement From La Grange Business Association and Park District Of La Grange
March 26, 2024
La Grange, IL- For many years, Endless Summerfest has been an end of summer tradition in La Grange. A collaboration between the Park District and the La Grange Business Association, staff and volunteers from both organizations, with assistance from the Village, worked to provide top-notch family entertainment including a Carnival, live bands, food and drink from some of La Grange’s most popular restaurants and an annual fireworks display in Gordon Park.
Over the years, however, it has become increasingly more difficult to provide the same quality event and the Park District and LGBA have had to reimagine the way the event is produced. Although our resources have not increased, the costs of executing Endless Summer have almost tripled over the years. Increased security costs together with an increase in band and fireworks fees have added to the staffing stress of putting on the 3-day event. After a thorough review of the dramatic cost increases over the last several years, including the most recent Endless Summerfest, the Park District and LGBA have come to the difficult decision to end the event.
Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to find new ways to create vibrant and safe community experiences in the future.
