Job Description
The La Grange Business Association sponsors a weekly Farmer’s Market on Thursdays from May to October.  Fresh Produce, baked goods and fresh flowers are available from local and area farmers.  The LGBA is looking to hire a one-day a week manager as an independent contractor for the Farmer’s Market.

Farmer’s Market Manager
Represents the market to the public and outside groups, organizations, and residents.  This includes interfacing with Village Departments, member businesses, vendors and potential vendors, residents and others.
  • Solicits and registers farmers/vendors in the market through seasonal vendor agreements; ensures compliance with agreement and collects all fees and deposits. Generates a high level of service to farmers and vendors through regular communication, telephone calls and emails. 
  • Ensures compliance with all Village requirements for the market.  Identifies and recruits potential market vendors. Consults with farmers and vendors to resolve problems and provide on-going support. Prepares market layout and makes modifications throughout the season.
  • Prepares marketing materials, including weekly newsletter, to promote the market and special offers to LGBA members and the public.
  • Manages all aspects of the market weekly from May to October.  This includes load in and load out.
  • Communicates any changes to the market to vendors and the LGBA management.
  • Manages the Member Activity Tent by soliciting members who want to promote their businesses through sponsorship of the event.
  • Assists in Special Projects
  • Other duties as assigned by LGBA Leadership
